The Rally Story

Founding Story

Rally was founded in 2021 by Barrett Worthington & Meg Charity, who have a passion for connecting active people through sport.

Initially, Barrett & Meg developed an app centered around connecting tennis players with coaches, but it wasn't long until the idea shifted into a focus on pickleball, and the connection shifted from digital into IRL.

The social aspect of pickleball- and the friendships made through the sport- inspired the team to take the idea of a traditional tournament and turn it on its head. From here, Picklefest was born, gathering people from 13 different states in Charlottesville, Virginia for four days of Pickleball, curated dining experiences and connection.

With the success of Picklefest, Barrett & Meg were inspired to take that feeling of community and integrate it into people's everyday lives. They began to envision a reinvented recreational experience, one that combines curated culinary offerings (they’re self-proclaimed foodies), craft cocktails, and ample opportunities to connect with new friends and old friends though pickleball. Enter: Rally.
